Guardian Telecom, a Division of Circa Enterprises Inc., provides the most advanced technical expertise, the finest hazardous and ruggedized telecommunications equipment, and the best operational support for its customers worldwide.

We manufacture and customize fully integrated “ruggedized” high performance telecommunications equipment for non-hazardous, hazardous, Class I Division 1, Class I Division 2 and other hardened equipment applications needed around the globe. Our tough and rugged phones, systems, enclosures and IP telecommunications equipment are properly certified and manufactured specifically for the industrial and commercial markets. Our ruggedized products and systems are used in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Historical Time Line

2017

Guardian Telecom, Inc. has been acquired by Circa Enterprises Inc. The Company now operates as Guardian Telecom, a Division of Circa Enterprises Inc.

2015

Guardian Telecom, Inc. has increased its global customer footprint to 60 countries.

2014

Guardian Telecom, Inc. launched its new VoIP hazardous and explosion proof telecommunications equipment to integrate into the latest digital technology telecommunications era.

2013

Guardian Telecom, Inc. expanded its engineering design (ODM), system design, certification, installation, commissioning, consultation and training for its North American and International customers.

2010

Guardian Telecom, Inc. expanded its production facilities to meet the needs of its growing and diverse customer base.

2005

Guardian Telecom, Inc. expanded its product lines from Explosion Proof and Hazardous Area telephones to include Explosion Proof Speakers, Ringers, full platform of Industrial and Weather Proof Telephones, Emergency Telephones, and Industrial Communication Systems (PA/GA), Page/Talk Systems and Acoustic Booths.

2002

Guardian Telecom, Inc. launched “Customization” of its ruggedized and hazardous telephone products working with its customer base designing new products and modifying existing product lines such as functionality, features, parts, use of color, graphics, labeling and certification.

1998

Guardian Telecom, Inc. expanded its global distribution footprint to over 20 countries.

1996

Guardian Telecom, Inc. began manufacturing and distributing ruggedized telephones and paging equipment for the Oilfield, Refinery, Marine, Mining, Utility, Power, Chemical, Petrochemical, Manufacturing, Transportation, Construction and Commercial Industry. The newly developed telecommunication equipment endured environments such as salt spray on board ships and dockside, high temperature areas, high humidity, shock and vibration in hard-rock mines, corrosive chemicals, dusty potash mines, vandal-prone public locations and weather-exposed construction sites.

1993

Guardian Telecom Inc. was incorporated to build on Newco’s innovations. The development of the explosion proof telephone equipment led to diverse innovations and designs for new communication systems within various ruggedized, hazardous environments in other market sectors.

1990

Received first large North American contract and manufactured ruggedized DTMF phones for hazardous areas, allowing customers to take full advantage of the features available with their existing telephone systems.

1989

Developed a fully integrated ruggedized DTMF (dual tone multi frequency) telephone within an explosion proof enclosure. DTMF is known under the trademark Touch-Tone for use in push-button telephones. This was the first phone approved for Class I, Division 1 explosive proof locations that required no special wiring or barriers.

1986

NEWCO Safety Tel, Inc. founded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and began manufacturing a generation of rotary dialed or intrinsically safe hazardous area telephones for use in the presence of locations of dangerous explosive atmospheres.
